Outcomes & Impact

While the COVID-19 pandemic and resulting state of emergency has meant that some plans were not able to come together, there have been some positive outcomes of the project brought forward. In addition to the deliverables discussed on the Solution page, the following are additional outcomes of the project.

1

The board and staff agreed to moving their signature art show "Sprung" to coincide with National Volunteer Week. Plans had been made to formally recognize volunteers with certificates of appreciation and remarks at the event.

2

The board and staff are now aware of Volunteer Canada as a resource. It has been recommended that they consider becoming a member of the organization to benefit from discounts and access to useful tools, education, marketing kits, and support to implement the Canadian Code for Volunteer Engagement.

3

A social media strategy to recognize volunteers during National Volunteer Week during the state of emergency was put forward for staff and board members to use.

4

All resources created by the C4 team will be handed over to ArtHeart. This will include web-based resources which will be shared and training given to staff to ensure they are able to update documents as required.

5

The board have identified the need for a new set of volunteers who are highly-skilled. They envision having these volunteers work to build relationships and partnerships with community organizations whose clientele are referred to ArtHeart. In building these partnerships, the board is looking to see if they can access funding that can be funnelled toward arts programs at ArtHeart that the partners may be able to access but ArtHeart can't. For example, there may be grants for programs for people experiencing homelessness that these partners may be able to access. If ArtHeart can demonstrate their ability to deliver programming to support this community, it is thought that the funding may be able to flow through the partner to ArtHeart who would in turn deliver the programming.
